That entertaiment destroyed ancient Rome. Romans were busy watching gladiators and chariots races (" everything that people need is bread and circus") and forgot about having children. Stantard of life in Rome was miles away from "barbarians" around. Because of low fertility rate Romans had to use diplomacy-"divide et empera" to play barbarians against each other. Finally Roman Army was short of Romans and filled up with barbarians that hated their Roman commanders. Empire felt apart from inside
