@sprungms yah dude thats old i know already and the popping is actually the unburnt fuel because turbo you run more fuel due to the increase in air so at low rpm there is tons of unburnt gas i just finished building a turbo 1.8 miata mad fun
@xstr33tr4cerx Dude.. For one, it might sound like that to you because of the turbo itself, but the cams help out. Turboed motors generally have a popping sound at lower RPMs from the exhaust gasses flowing through the turbine. Aftermarket cams make it sound "lumpy" because of the increased valve lift and duration.. Turbo cams usually have little to no valve overlap. Also, I definitely do not recommend using the stock ECU to run a boosted Miata in general, especially with cams. ;)
this is nice wish people would put up more fully built Miata vids. did you get the cams from maruha and was there interference with the cylinder head or did you already check the lobes. is it a 1.8? LOVE THE VID MORE INFO PLEASE.
Is there any videos of this thing racing?

@themikepotter yah...i just found out that its the bigger cam lobes that take in more air and all that complex tuning stuff
