  • The Ventures have always been my favorite! Let's see what rap artist will still be around in 50 years!

  • @steverlfs

    I'll say amen to that.....!!!

  • Love "Blue Tango" anyway I can get it. This is a real good rendition. Come over to my channel and check out my performance of "Pipeline."

  • Thanks, It's one of my favourites, but I am confused, are you george T. Hickerson? if you are, my compliments to you, I liked your version of pipeline, also your voice, and singing style, It reminds me of a terrific songwriter, singer we have here in Eastern Canada, Newfoundland, actually, called Roy Payne, you may never have heard of him, in the U.S., If you haven't you'll find him here on youtube.

    Regards

  • This is great music. I hate to sound like an old man (which I am) but kids just don't appreciate some of the simpler things in life: three guys on string and one on drums. No electronic crap, just good music.

    Thanks for posting this classic.

  • When I was about 5 my family was the proud owner of 8 x 78s. Not many but they were precious. Blue Tango was among them and was my father's favourite piece of music as well as mine. The post is therefore doubly welcome, even more so as it introduced a musical peasant to the Ventures. Long life, happiness and thanks again.

  • @Xmas392

I remember this version in my elementary school days!

    Great times.

  • I'll also take this song any which way. Thanks a million for the post. I would have missed this otherwise and my life would not have been complete. Merry Xmas.

  • Bought My 1st Ventures Lp in the early 60s. I believe it was The Colorful Ventures or Let's Go ? And i Have been a Fan since . But how could You Not be a Fan of this True Musical Treasure ? Great Song, Thanks Much :)

  • Very cool version with typical rock-and-roll flavor!! Mr. Anderson would approve it heartily.

  • @Satchmoeddie I think they did do it on a TV show and live, but where the tapes are is something I am waiting to see. I have one of Kotke's first records shared with another guitarist on the A side. It is an OLD (for Kotke) independent label out of the Pacific Northwest, and quite good. Another Goodwill find, or yardsale, and one of Kotke's best albums or 1/2 album anyway. I also have George Thorogood on "Rounder Records". The early stuff is usually great as no quotas are in place.

  • @usm7j Why yes he did, along with a ton of lighthearted fun light classical and pop songs. Did Chet Atkins ever get to record this with Leo Kotke.

  • awesome

  • @mynameistim01 *

I remember saying the same thing when I was young.

  • @TomatoeAssassin Young people rule!!!!!!!!
