Campaigner Lewis Pugh addressed a public meeting in Cape Town on Friday evening (March 25, 2011) on Shell's fracking plans in the Karoo. More info at http://treasurethekaroo.blogspot.com/
Thank You for your words and your spirit Lewis Pugh. Lets all stand together as South Africans and stop this Greedy beast from Devastating our environment as they've done in the States (Pennsylvania & Texas) and Ireland. Or as they've done in Nigeria with oil, as Lewis said. Our Government has already been corrupted with Madupe & now it's this. once by CANNOT let them do this!!
We should rather plant Spekboom in 100 hectare units fenced and keep kudus out until we have a couple of thousand hectares and let kudu browse the fenced areas as "stock" these kudu can be a valuable food source to the poor who work these plantations furthermore we should install undercover vegetable gardens under solar panels this is the extent of development we should afford in the Karoo rather leave it alone
SHELL!!!!!!!!!!!! LEAVE THE KAROO ALONE!!! you have no idea the sleeping giant you are starting to wake up... we will stand together and we will stand strong
