This unfinished movie is a relic from OPRFHS' long gone Experimental Program ("XP"). The two leads James Fagervik ("Gimme the money!") and Jeremy Pollock ("I don't have it!") were in the XP Filmmaking class and this was actually a school project, shot in the second-floor hallways at the North end of the school. Home video, camcorders, and videocassettes did not yet exist as such in 1974 and digital video was not even on the horizon. This video was shot with a large, unwieldy Sony Porta-Pak videotape recorder which belonged to the High School. It was the size of a suitcase. The large hand-held camera was black-and-white only. This primitive videotape recorder used 5-inch reels of half-inch Sony V-32 tape. The crudeness of the cuts and automatic level control testify to the embryonic state of portable video equipment circa 1974. And note that Hitchcockian dolly shot!

  • @MichaelHansenFUN It's in Oak Park, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago.

  • they did have vcr's of some sorts back then

  • hey buddy PLEASE STOP TOUCHING THE URINALS; I don't care if you were just "punched" in the stomach

  • where's my fucking money, denny?!

  • That's great I was in the XP program in 1972 & 73.

  • Oh, and I also graduated from OPRF in 1991...go Huskies!!

  • All I've seen when I type in 'OPRF' or the full name into the YT search line are sports highlights. Boooring. This is a little excerpt of history that nobody would otherwise have seen if you hadn't saved the footage. Hey, the technology might have been primitive for its time but I think that makes it more fascinating to watch now.
