This is the road that I was on when I got caught in the storm. Some say it was straightline winds and some say it was a tornado embedded in a storm. I say it was a tornado due to all the twisting in the trees and the fact that not every thing was hit or fell all in the same direction. Also the force and pressure on us was very bizarre. I am blessed to have made it from te beginning to almsot the end of the road before I had to jump a curb in my car and take shelter! We have been without power for 3 days now and it is still out. The city finally realized we had been hit hard so we are hoping they are making our area a priority. They cant decide if they should declare a disaster. They should have already done it because people need ice, water, and a nice meal. The heat index for this week is to be 105 degress!

UPDATE: AFTER 4 DAYS POWER IS ON BUT NOT CONTINOUS DUE TO WORK TRUCKS FIXING OTHER AREAS.

  • Wow!

That storm did some damage! It screwed up my neighborhood, too.

We had no power for about 36 hours.

Pretty freaky, but we were, of corse, the last to get our power back.

  • Our power was out for 4 days! It seemed like it would never end and the heat was intense!

  • Where was this in memphis?

  • This was on Berkshire right after Wellstation. Over in the North Graham area. We were hit hard and we are still without power. The news states last night that they finally realized we were damaged pretty bad. I went out to Bartlett where they were acting like it was bad and it is nothing compared to this. There is also extensive damage before the railroad tracks as well.
