@michealati2 It was a HIGH SCHOOL talent show; they weren't trying out for America's Got Talent or some other such show, in case that's what you're implying.

@xxdinosawsxx NOooo dont take lessons right away!! What you should do is just play around with simple beats, after time you will obtain natural skill. If you take lessons to early it could ruin your creativity. Ive been playing for about 4 years now and Im awesome and never took one lesson. Save your money. If you want lessons check out freedrumlessons(DOT)com

Practice, practice, practice! Listen to as many great drummers as you can...
and practice, practice, practice! Jam with players who are better than you. They will inspire you to improve... and practice, practice, practice! Becoming a wood shedding maniac. :-)

@Madmartigan1 you don't really need lessons to become a great drummer. many are self taught! just watch youtube videos and save some money

@Madmartigan1 at the moment im taking lesson from youtube, and i practice 3 hours a day but in January im taking real, private lessons at my school

@xxdinosawsxx Get recommendations for a great drum teacher in your area and start getting lessons, so you can learn proper technique, etc. Then lots of practice...

@rodcrippler yes, I'm a drummer as well. She was in the 10th grade (maybe 11th) when this was filmed so it was a bit dated when uploaded. She started playing in the 5th grade and is 22 now, graduated (5 year degree in 4 years) with a degree in percussion performing arts.
