Thats right. He was the best. And like many other people in the 1930's, 1940's, singers, actors, musicians, they were all better than the garbage we have today and in recent years.

@BoStevoD I'm saying that people always tend to criticize the music coming out in their own day as being somehow lesser than the music of the past. In 2050 people will be whining about how shitty the new sounds are, and wishing they could go back to the day when supposedly "real" artists like Lil' Wayne and Eminem were around.

@Krupa08 The video short that this was from was made years after the pot bust. Gene wasn't a pothead. By his own admission, he used it once in a while but said it just made him tired. He fully admitted to being a lush for many years. The media wanted a posterboy and he was the fall guy. Satchmo and Buddy Rich smoked pot their entire lives, but Gene still is painted as the drug addict when he never was
