Props to you for doing your homework and making a educated choice for your family.

My big baby is the same way, She loves kids and is the sweetest dog Ive ever known. Funny thing is that my fiances silky terrier is the mean one. Hes bitten me several times. My girl is an ex fight dog and I trust her with my niece more than I would EVER trust my fiances dog.

I have never met an aggressive pit bull. I have met several aggressive smaller breed dogs however. I know pits can be dog aggressive but are always (from what I'v e seen) great with people and especially kids

I've had four dogs over 20 years that could be deemed "pit bull type". Not a one of them was dog aggressive. Just sayin.

I have 2 pits and my parents have 2 boston terriers. I trust our 1 year old 95 lb pit over my parents 14 year old 9 lb boston. When my daughter is upset the pit is always the one who stands guard outside the bedroom door until she feels better. And the only person who is going to get hurt from this big baby is the person dumb enough to try to hurt my kids.

Very sweet indeed. Reminds me of my daughter and her two rescue pit bulls.
I agree... Pit bulls are naturally animal agressive, but should never be human agressive. My Pit is the biggest baby you have ever met. Pit bulls rate higher on a temperament scale than Golden retrievers.
In Europe they are known as nanny dogs, because they are so good with children. Everyone needs to realize the owner is who utimately shapes his animal's behavior.

So called aggressive dogs are the best family companion, they just need special training. It seems yours has that. Dogs are aggressive because of the owners lack or training/discipline. They are the most loyal friendly, friends a family can have if trained properly, yet some don't see that. Great work .
