The "other" Sadako is a malicious manifestation of her rage caused by the hatred people had toward her mother and herself. It gets summoned to protect Sadako during distress...Even when it's what's causing it.

The whole tale of Ringu is really just a different sort of Grudge...

still puzzled with this. Is the ESP as the cause of other "sadako" self and show itself as a manifesting ghost form attached to good "sadako"? Still confusing subject to understand. Definitely, this is dual personality that is separate but connected to each other in term of having the ability to "cure" a person by mere thought - such as Gollum and Smeagol like character ??
