Yes, I know many people has uploaded also this game's video on YouTube however last times some people can't believe the game works on regular ZX Spectrum 128K.

So it works. Therefore this video is different than others: on the beginning I loaded Computer Tester to display what machine is that (ZX Spectrum 128+). Then I reset it and loaded "Wolfenstein 3D" game via diskdrive.

Yes, it doesn't look as impressive as DOOM because it's made in pure 1 bit graphic (monochrome) but its engine from the coder's side is more impressive than DOOM's one.

The game works fine on normal ZX Spectrum 128 and its 3,5Mhz CPU.
Also please note that MP4 totally destroyed the interlace (gigascreen) effects on the intro and they're not visible at all here, sadly.

However please don't expect Pentium effects. :)
That's still old good ZX Spectrum 8-bit computer.

  • This would go great with NES, because, NES has got color. This does not almost.

P.S. What I mean by not having color, I mean, it doesn't have much colors.

  • @ComputuhWhiz It has 15 colours, but this time author decided to make monochrome game, for many reasons. Ah well.

  • would this work on a real system? if so thats just awsome

  • Of course it does. :) What would be the point to put here anything names "ZX Spectrum" that doesn't work on ZX spectrum? :) Check out this thread (with DOWNLOAD URLs) and delete spaces!!

  • This computer makes 1-bit sounds? This sounds better than 1-bit.

  • This computer makes 4-bit sounds. 1-bit in this computer is only an additional generator. But many people think that 1-bit sound is nicer and they don't like AY chip very much. :)
