REVIEW: HP dv6885se Special Edition Copper "Thrive" Notebook

This gorgeous laptop from HP is a special edition product that's sold exclusively at Best Buy locations. It features an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU at 2.1 Ghz, Intel PRO/Wireless 4965AGN WiFi, 3 GB DDR2 RAM, a 15.4" WXGA screen, a 250GB Serial ATA hard drive (5400 rpm), a 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 8400M GS GPU, and all the usual ports (USB, Ethernet, Firewire, HDMI, VGA-out, etc.). At the time of this video filming, it's selling for $999 USD directly from Best Buy (at the time I filmed it was $1149).

Perhaps, at very low resolutions...this isn't really designed to be a gaming laptop.

uh i play WoW so it sounds set for that..but can it run steam and play any FPS shooters at all?

I'm sorry, but I'm not enough of a FPS gamer to answer that question. It really depends on what resolution you set the game at, what quality settings you use, etc.

Nice video,Actually I have 1 same model but I noticed that the wireless mouse its not included in my package and the touch pannel of mine is black..

In the card slot it comes with a remote control but yours does not have. Maybe contact hp and ask your r.m. And the 12 cell battery is not good which is lost 50% capability after 2 months. I am encoding tons videos with this and it is quite a desktop replacer with most counts.

4 hours HA!  I've gotten up to 7 hours out of that battery on low brightness and power saver mode. Its SO worth it.
