Obama Impeachable For Gun Control Override?

"Former Reagan Attorney General Edwin Meese, now a prominent emeritus official at the Heritage Foundation, became the latest conservative to warn that President Obama could risk impeachment if he takes executive action on reducing gun violence in an interview Monday night."*

Agreed, animal abuse is abhorrent. Pets are usually quite calming for most people, most of the time, but when there's abuse - it's a definite sign that something is wrong and should be addressed immediately. I'm not all out against SSRI drugs. I know that they do help many, maybe even most - but they should be monitored closely, especially at first and when changing dosages.

Your stage of depression sounds relatively minor. However when depression leads to alienation then it can become dangerous

Geez, I find animal abuse shocking. I don't know what I'd do without my pets in down times, or really ever. My mom's on Paxil, and she really is the best she's ever been. I don't think prescription drugs are the best answer in the world, natural therapy should be used first. But I doubt they're what triggered these recent shootings.

Maybe it's just me, but when I'm depressed I'm at my most empathetic.

They used to include the possibility of increased aggression, but not surprisingly they've quit publishing that. My ex-wife used to be on paxil or zoloft (I forget which) for awhile, but stopped taking it when she started being cruel and very abusive to one of our cats. After she stopped taking it, she also stopped the cruel and abusive behavior. Cruelty to animals is often a sign or step for someone who may go on to do similar things to people...

Well I've dealt with doctors that don't know anything about anxiety or depression, or were unhelpful. I was on Lexapro which didn't work, but luckily I now have a great doctor, and Effexor has restored my quality of life. There is no way of knowing if these shooters were simply trying to get better and failed, or if SSRI's worsened the condition. I've never heard of homicidal behavior caused by SSRI's, only suicidal.

Really? So tell us about your experiences with the Mental Health System... Are you taking any SSRI drugs? I saw in another of your comments that you said "SSRI's don't cause homicidal behavior, these fools were nuts before", and while yes they were nuts before - but in many cases the SSRI's can make things worse. There needs to be more research trials done, and more requirements for closer monitoring of patients. And dr.s need to quit passing that shit out like it's candy. Nuts cause the damage.
