beauty moves some of us to be strengthened in our conviction- but I do not think beauty itself can be the sole justification or source of faith... that has to come from somewhere else.

If I am a middle-aged, childless woman in the 21st century that doesn't believe in the existence of God or love, then....I lie.

When I hear music and the extraordinary bliss of these musicians, I KNOW that all that I didn't think I believed in....EXISTS!

that's funny. i feel no such compunction to be led to a god Ive never believed in by beauty, even of this caliber. so i cant relate in that direction.
but i must say, to know this was crafted by men, it has restored some of the faith i thought id lost in my fellow man long, long ago... Ive always felt like that about music, though...

yo yo ma is cool.

All of the music projects he has put together are nothing short of remarkable.

I've enjoyed teaching from his resources.

Not only that, he has been resourceful (as a musician) in getting the Ford Company to support a musical project.

We need more of that in global society to bring music back to the people....so that the people own it, and not the multi-nationals!
