Event date: Wednesday 16 March 2011 13:00 to 15:00
Location: BE BRUSSELS A5G-2

Studies recently published have shown aspartame's potential negative impacts on pregnant women as well as the carcinogenic potential of his sweetener.

We propose to organise a public hearing to address the potential health risks of the artificial sweetener aspartame bringing together scientists, consumer's organisation, manufacturers and official from EFSA.

The aim is to have an informed debate on the issue of public interest.

  • Should we be afraid of Aspartame ? Hell Yea!!

  • A G Renwick references Lindinger (1997) saying that apples and pectin are greater sources of methanol than Aspartame is scientifically dishonest!

In apples methanol is bound to pectin, and human's lack the digestive enzymes to break down the pectin and release the methanol. (Schachter, 1996).

Ethanol, methanol’s toxicity antidote, is found in natural food sources of methanol. It inhibits metabolism of methanol clearing the toxin through the lungs and kidneys (Monte, 1984).

  • read the rise of the fourth reich byJim Marrs...he explains the roots of aspartame very well.... Peace to all.

  • I listened to the ENTIRE presentation! 1) The EU is much more pro-active about food and health than the US. 2) Engineered products in our food supply should be a concern. While hard to achieve 100% today, strive to eliminate processed foods from your diet.

CONCLUSION: Avoid consuming anything that mankind has not consumed and survived on over thousands of generations. (Beer is allowed-lol)
