@shaneshaneist That's kind of what I'm saying, there ARE no good pop songs. What was good pop, is no longer considered pop such as the Beatles, some Nirvana, and other songs. Pop music just refers to what is currently popular, and to be perfectly honest, that is nothing nowadays.

Today's music is quite disappointing, I can't listen through a whole song the radio these days before I grab my iPod and play Guns N Roses or Michael Jackson (I know it's pop music but he writes the songs, and my god can he sing) I aspire to be a musician, I play the guitar and sing, and I write actual good songs in my honest opinion.

I dont think any music is crap, its not like one genre of music is right and the other wrong, but instead we just have idiosyncrasies related to the type of music we percieve as enjoyable, so the negative perception of specific music from a single individual does not mean that that music is bad or any less valuable. the intrinsic value of music is like beauty, its rests in the eye of its beholder.
