  • This game had a badass soundtrack.

  • Ahhh brings back memories...I used to lower the special FX volume to appreciate the music more. I still have the game and the system I think I enjoy playing this game more than some of the newest and best titles of xbox360.. The other N64 game that has badass music is ROBOTRON 64.

  • @teslacrat Neon was the shit!! more agile than Roach.

  • @beakbrigade I could never hit that curve the right way unless I was using Roach. In my defense, I actually earned him, though.

  • @phathomie27 khan owns. HIs top speed is a little lacking, and the weapon dies fast. But those are secondary to getting up to speed as quickly as he does. Love this game.

  • Makes me wish I had a European Supercar on a long dark road with a shitload of fog..

  • awwww yeah!

  • @beakbrigade and the bats when u come outside

  • Anybody remember the dodgy right turn on this track to go outside the cavern and get 3 homing rockets?

  • Hands down the best track in the game.

  • i love tjis theme, very good this music for this game.

  • @89RockLee Kahn was a beast. That acceleration was tops, and very useful

  • Yooo. Me and my dad tore this game up! He always used the Kahn and I always used Grimace. I miss this game!

  • love the music in this game.

  • aaah! this used to be my fav track/level! oh, good N64 times. They should release this on the Wii shop, i'd be soo happy =))

  • @driveby1 Thank you!! Games nowadays have no creative ideas. Just first person shooters....and that it really.

  • @LucidDream101 Funny thing is, Nintendo never lost money, not even on the N64. Sure they lost the leadership and a lot of revenue, but they always made profit with it.

To be honest though, it's not Sony and Microsoft that are killing the simple fun of games, but more the modern publishing structure that kills creativity and smothers cool ideas and fresh genres like XG was back then.

Nowadays, it's all about spacemarines and military shooters.

  • @driveby1 yup, back when consoles where fun and not about money...unfortunitly. gotta give nintendo credit tho, they denied the cd against sony staying with cartridge for performance reasons even tho i think that's what really killed them financially. i was against sony making a console and i'm definitly against microsoft making a console. these huge corps killed 2 perfectly legit fun makers... i.e. sega and nintendo.

  • At the time, despite the sluggish controls and the terrible drawdistance, this game had me glued to the TV. Even by N64 standards the graphics and performance wasn't all that hot, but the game just delivered where it mattered most. FUN. Nothing like getting into a speedrush with this game. Everything felt so slow after playing it.

  • Oh yeah. Blasting through the cave course with Roach to this track when Is about 10 years old. I think I'm the only one among my friends today who actually know about this game, lol.

  • I needed this when I was on E

  • @CdotxXS if the music of this game suck, then you are gay

  • @Eiphureonz Both Extreme G and Diddy Kong Racing are at the top of the N64 racing games.

  • @kristopopins Too bad Acclaim went bankrupt and closed down 6 years ago.

I would love a reboot of this series. Everyone were all over wipeout and F-Zero, but this was the true king of high-speed racing games in my eyes.

  • @blackjin21 Hell yeah!! The people from acclaim need to make another next gen extreme g

  • this game high is the best

    the beats are monster

    and the speed is insane

    best trip ever

  • It's funny that at least on this game's menus, there were no names for each of the tracks, but there may be official names that just aren't shown. I do know that the atomic circuit only played Tracks 1, 4, 7 and 10, Critical Mass 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11 and Meltdown played all 12.
