Came the Night by Paz Latorena

Came the Night is a story about a girl named Conchita (fondly called Chita by her aunt Conchita and husband Tristan). She fell in love with a travel-stained young man who, out of Chita's ambitions, became the most famous doctor in the city.

The story is told by her aunt as she reminisces the budding of Chita and Tristan's love story. Did it continue to bloom or did it fade as the night came?
