WDSD News compares yerba mate to coffee. Trend watchers call it the new "IT" drink. Can be brewed in a coffee maker, or in the traditional mate gourd, served warm, not hot.

I remember the first time that i heard that south americans drank something called "mate" i thought it was a drug! but my parents that are mexicans talked me about it and they say its a popular drink in Argentina and that it's delicious... I want to try ;)

It is originally from Argentina and Paraguay, because the Guaranís invented it, Guaranies were in Paraguay and Misiones (province of Argentina), the indians hadn't frontiers, so they didn't say, HERE IS PARAGUAY, HERE IS ARGENTINA, they were Guaranis and Guaranis were in Argentina too.
It's ok that we have 85% european ascendence but we have some indian too
