They changed the name from Tiki Fest to Ho'olaule'a this year so I decided to finally check it out (I loved going to Ho' downs on Oahu when I lived there).
Anyway, I was illegally parked, so I didn't stay long - about 45 mins. I recorded 3 hula dances then decided to just walk around the vendots getting unidentifiable crowd shots, Haw'n logos and ... stuff.. for sale. Sundry items on a Sunday you can say!
I didn't see the postal workers in the booth until I was on my way back around... Uh-huh, Lee and Gerald working the "Lost Horizon Arts", representing Indonesia. (See video w/in montage). You may have seen this pair in various fests in the 562 + 714; Gerald often does cariacatures - have you seen MINE? (Letter Carrier cartoon).
My question is, are these two eligible for an "early out"? If so, will they take it to sell Indonesian Art full-time? Their booth was jam-packed!
Time will tell. Aloha!
Note: Hula Halau is: __________ from __________. PS I never did see even one "Alfredo's Beach Club" logo/sign and it was Fred Khummar who puts this event on!
