This screencast shows you how to use a video as a "desktop wallpaper" on linux. I'm using Ubuntu, but i'm quite sure this little trick can be achieved by any other distribution as long as the requirement met. You will need mplayer and xwinwrap, and the video formats supported depend on installed codecs. You can download the package for xwinrap here (for debian based distribution).

  • @Alucard19 this trick only works on linux, but I believe there is something called Dreamscene in Windows that provide similar feature
