@Lavenderrose73 Try sprinkling brown sugar and cinnamon on your oatmeal and use vanilla soy milk, its soo good. You'd be surprised how much better you feel when you don't eat much cooked food. It feels like you are a cow at first chewing, but after you chew on all that roughage for awhile, all the processed insoluble man made food like sugars and starches and sodium and saturated fat become disgusting to your taste buds. You get more than enough carbs from veggies and everything else.
@Virtuesse09 Well I'm trying to shop and eat better. I really don't care much for oatmeal (unless it's the flavored stuff), and even then I still prefer cold cereal. I go to Sam's Club and I cook by the batch too. I have FarmFreshToYou delivering produce to me every other week because it's the only way I'm going to eat my vegetables. I have, oh my gosh, SIX EARS OF CORN! I have them in the freezer for now, but I haven't cooked them yet. I suppose my waterless cookwear would be better anyway.
@Lavenderrose73 I try my best to never reheat food more than once because just once breaks down foods wholeness and negates foods benefits. I try to resist the use of plastic by using pyrex. I shop locally (less packaging, transportation, healthier, fresher) I shop once a week. I cook once a weak, apart from oatmeal and eggs in the morning. I eat tons of fresh fruits and raw veggies. I very very seldomnly throw food out but when I do its biodegraded and I recycle everything that I can.
@Virtuesse09 I've lost a lot of stuff because I waited too long to eat it, so I figured if these bags would keep food safe to eat longer (for someone who lives alone and won't necessarily get to it all right away) something like this would be a good thing. And as for boiling in water, while that may not be the reason I bought it, it may very well keep at least more of the nutrients in the corn or whatever, because it wouldn't be dispersed into the water that is usually thrown away.
@Lavenderrose73 Yes, I saw that you sent it over a year, but I saw it yesterday. Usually I don't spend to much time using a lot of tact but rather blunt honesty on Youtube. Meaning that I didn't consider your feeling when righting it, but I suppose I was more attacking the whole marketing ploy rather than the person and for that I am sorry. It's just foolish in so much as what a device like this stands for. I was thinking about buying one off groupon but even for 25 dollars it is a total waste.
@Virtuesse09 Honestly, I had to read what I wrote (a YEAR ago??) AND watch the video again just so I'd know what you were condescending me about. There are more respectful ways to speak your opinion than to make someone out to be lazy with that last remark. I wasn't offended by your snide comment as far as "I wouldn't recommend it." If you can't state your opinion to someone (who couldn't even remember what she wrote) without throwing a subtle "Don't be so lazy" message, you shouldn't say it.
@Lavenderrose73 Mmmm food boiled in plastic. Reminds me of microwaved food. I don't know though because it is BPA free! Still though I truly wouldn't recommend it even though it seems like less work than cleaning your pan or pot which really isn't so difficult. Ya know?
Oh, I didn't know I could boil it in water with the stuff in it too! I just sealed my julienne style cut cabbage that... well, is still MOSTLY good, but I heard this hissing sound. Maybe some little pieces got in the way or something. I guess it will take practice keeping it clear of food particles..
