This was used in an afternoon movie show in the early '50's to introduce the host who walked his dog into a patio and told you about the film to come. I was all of 5 but I recall it clearly. This was in Los Angeles area and I think on channel 9 or 11. Two of about six we got then.

"Ebert Presents At the Movies." The joke behind the use of the theme is made a little more explicit in the closing credits: The animation of a cat, followed by a quick tilt up to a cartoon Roger Ebert's face, is an homage to the movie, and it establishes that Roger Ebert is "The Third Man" in the movie review show.
