@lmonto I was going to ask this very question! But, I would probably use a latex glove.

Could you tell me what you used for the core, I've been trying to find a a larger core, but I'm not sure where to go to get one?

If you were to put this ferrofluid inside a smaller diameter tube - would the electos push it upward/create pressure?

have u ever tried combining a rodin coil and a star. having the star be in the middle. just an idea but ive seen people playing music with the coils and magnets. if u use enough ferro fluid i bet u could see the magnetic sound waves. instead of using magnets use extremely magnetic ferro fluid. i think this would be a real cool experiment and hey u might discover a new way to make hd speakers. tell me what u think.

@lightdanmo I have only been focusing on transformer tech for the last year trying to advance that so to speak, I haven't tried combining the 2 but may be a worthy try. Vivenano.com has 100 grams of 6nm iron powder for 500 dollars with surfactant in place all you have to do is add water, I plan on trying to get some so that we can make ferrofluid with more iron particles that what is commercially available. but not till end of spring on that one.
