Yesterday a superintendent in Central Falls, Rhode Island, fired the whole staff at the High School. Students at the school do not perform well. Central Falls is the poorest town in the state with near 15% unemployment and students at the high school have poor test scores and low graduation rates. So do you do the right thing, flood the area with money and resources and jobs. No you scapegoat the teachers and use federal rules to upend job security. No one has to be proven a bad teacher. Test score are bad so you fire the whole lot. Obamas sec. or Education Duncan hailed the firings. Its the shape of things to come.
