Minamahal Kita - M. Velarde Jr. (arr. Jose Valdez)

I was taking a break from playing J. Valdez arrangements. However, we were at the Pista Sa Nayon at Vallejo last 6/6/09 and we saw this pinoy jazz band with a lady singer who played their rendition of several pinoy kundimans (song and music). Rick Ickard played the classical guitar (ad lib), although I think he was not at the top of his game at that time. One of the songs they played was this one and so I went back to look for it in my "The Phil Guitar" book. Lo and behold! it's there. It took me 2 days to study it. My recording here may be as good as it gets...then I move on.

Raffy, naka linya ba itong piyesang ito sa gagawan mo ng tutorial? Sana naman. Would you know if the sheet music for this song is available in pdf and for sale online? Ang mahal kasi ng shipping mula sa Pilipinas ng buong book ni MJV. Mas mahal pa shipping kesa sa book mismo.

Thanks for inquiring and for reminding me to re-render this piece (I wasn't happy with this vid). It's not (yet) in my list of yet-to-be tutorials but I'll add it. As far as I know, the sheet music is only available with the book itself. Shipping costs are prohibitive so look for a way to see if a kababayan is willing to take the book back to your location (from PI). That's how most people that I know (that purchased the books) did it. Thanks.

Napakaganda mong tumugtog.. Sana ay dumami pa ang iyong lahi. Sa pamamagitan mo ay nabubuhay ang tugtog ng lahi.. Dati akong humiling na tugtugin mo ang "Wala Kang Habag" by Vega. Nakita ko sa youtube ang isang videoke ng Mabuhay singers , sana ay matugtog mo.. sa gitara..

If i had to learn one Pilipino kundiman on classical guitar, it had to be this song. Sana lang magkaron din ng option ang publisher na ibenta online per piece in pdf form ang sheet music with tabs. Sabi mo nga prohibitive ang cost ng shipping.
