Hazel was going freakazoid on me. I seriously thought she was going to have a heart attack. Or give me one. I stood up and cheered as everyone else did and I was excited as I heard Shelf come on first. I loved the one. the performance was absolutley mind-bending. They did a series of incredible flips; somethings I could never have done if my life depended on it. And I'm not kidding. My respect for them grew as I watched the show with intensity. It was crazy. the whole time Hazel was jumping up and down screaming her lungs out. Then the music stopped and The one who was singing alot of the time.. I think it was Joe.. walked up to the mic. He waited for the crowd to calm down and then started to talk.
"Hey New york!" Screams.
"How's it going?" Screams.
"I'm guessing pretty good?" Screams. Okay, why did he keep on doing that? Just get on with it already. I laughed to myself. I couldn't be mad at him, he looked like he was having a good time.
"So there's this thing that we usually do, and it involves bringing a girl up here from the audiance..." screams cut him off. this time, it sounded like a wave of noise that just hit me with a amazing force. That kind of hurt my hearing. I would have to sue these guys if I went deaf. Or the crowd, that depends who would have crappier lawyers.
"And singing a song to her. What do you guys think?" Joe finally got to finish and he was cut off once again. The youngest one who I actually knew as Nick, stepped fowards toward the mic.
"We have someone planned out already to come up here. She one a radio contest over in Jersey, our home state by the way, but she actually has no idea we're bringing her up here. It's her 17th birthday tonight so let's all welcome Hazel Scott!" Hazel looked at me with wide eyes as a Large security guard came over to us. He grabbed me by the arm instead of Hazel and helped me out of the aisle. I tried to yell in his ear over the screaming that he had the wrong girl, but either he didn't hear me or he just wasn't listening to me. I was pretty mad. This was all for Hazel and I was ruining it. It was supposed to be special adn she probably was standing down there feeling like she missed out on the biggest thing ever. Because to her it was. There was no getting out of it as I was being pretty much shoved up the stairs to the stage.
I was suddenly extremely grateful that Hazel had done my hair again that day. She had done my make-up a little differently. She said the brown eye-liner brought out my pale blue eyes. I was grateful I had worn one of my favorite outfits that night. Just skinnies and a old Beatles shirt with a scarf and converse. I was suddenly being stared at by thousands of judging girls eyes. but oddly enough, I didn't mind. It was kind of exhilerating.
I was just worried about how Hazel would feel about this. I reached the top of the stairs without tripping. Which, by the way, would totally be something that I would do. I pulled my eyes off of my feet and started forwards, towards Nick Joe and Kevin. Oh and that was another thing. With my luck, I would probably mess them up. I would call Kevin, Joe or something. but o well. I took a deep breath and continued to walk towards them. Nick (at least I knew who he was) looked up from his guiter and stared at me right in the eyes. A look of confusion spread across his face. that was weird, I though, they wouldn't be abel to tell if I was Hazel or not. Would they?
I had just gotten close enough to Nick to hear when he said something. He just whispered it but for a second that's all I could hear. One simple word.
"Nicole?"

oooohh..that's interesting, but wait a sec...
who's nicole?
yeah well I guess you'll have to wait till later to figure out, huh?
what happens after the concert?
Will Hazel be mad at Mia?
If I were in her situtaion I would be...just saying
