Mark Hickler & Elli Simmons sang in the Vocal Duet Competition at Wickenburg 30th Regional 4 Corner State Competitions & Bluegrass Festival. They took 1st place. CONGRATS Mark & Ellie!

  • It feels off balance because it is about a conflicted individual. The protagonist leaves the women he loves (Saro and his mother) in search of no particular goal only to find personal ruin. His final words seem to be a self justification or reply to Saro "you surely will see I treated you as kindly as you treated me." This has a beautiful ambiguity because we don't know if he is blaming her for a lack of love or heart broken that she does not recognize his love for her.

  • Pretty Saro? It is a song that "leaves me off balance -- what exactly is the issue in the song?  Anyway nice vocal effort.
