I WANT WALKING ON STATIONS! I WANT WALKING IN SHIPS! I WANT A HUMAN FORM! Everyone who is wanking about that CCP shouldnt do this and that is WRONG! EvE would be a better game with more immersion. Now its just Excel.

actually, the lore states that the captain is sort of like a "living brain" for the ship.

the ships(even frigates) have crews of various sizes manning them.

There's even an eve chronicle about crew members attempting to reach a rescue pod right before something(don't remember if it says) tears the ship to bits.

so no, the ships aren't designed with a single pilot in mind, but a whole crew, with the pilot giving orders and stuff.
