Previous breast enlargement with silicone implants. Complication shown is capsular contraction due to ruptured implant. Video shows the removed implant complete with it's thickened capsule. This is dissected on the "bench" after the end of the operation. The capsule is cut into to reveal the ruptured implant which spills out. The thick shell from the encapsulation illustrates why the implant is so distorted and why the breast becomes so distorted when this complication occurs. Mr Turton is a leading breast oncoplastic and cosmetic breast surgeon based at the Leeds Nuffield Hospital. He also works as a reconstructive breast surgeon at Leeds General Infirmary. He receives referrals from all over the UK as well as overseas. He performs all aspects of aesthetic breast surgery, primary breast augmentation, redo breast enlargement and revisional breast augmentation. He also performs medico-legal work and provides second opinions. For full details, visit: www.cosmeticbreastsurgeon.co.uk

  • Medical grade silicone does not cause systemic reactions, & has been used for > 50 yrs in devices that go into the body. There have been major independent scientific reviews in different countries all with the same conclusions. There will always be people who don't believe these, or like to scaremonger. When silicone leaks, a localised reaction occurs: pain & scar tissue can occur. The modern 5th generation Allergan implants are much safer.

  • ATTENTION !!!

SCAR TISSUE OCCURS LIKE SHOWN NEARLY 70% of patients that get implants, silicone is composed of methyl chloride that when heated to 98F in woman body create gasses that bleed through silicone implant shell and the body reacts by making painful scar tissue !!! I worked as silicone chemist for Mentor Corp. in Santa Barbara !!!!!!!

  • @californiaspinnaker if that were the case the FDA wouldn't still have them approved. Along with that, women wouldn't keep the implants for years without complication.

  • ATTENTION !!!

MY name is Bryan and I was silicone chemist for Mentor Santa Barbara, all implants begin process of toxic poisoning when implants are heated to 98F in woman's body !!

All silicone is made with Methyl Chlorine and shells are made with XYLENE that both cause LUPUS, CANCER according to FDA !!!

DO NOT GET ANY IMPLANTS !!!

  • Bleeurrrrh, gross - it looks like a rotten Scotch egg! Scarey stuff :-(

  • looks like an aline pod
