3 alarm fire in Central Falls, RI

Shortly after 1:30 am on Friday March 4, 2011, calls came into the fire alarm office reporting a house fire on Hedley Ave. While companies were already tied up at a small fire a few blocks away, they released 1 company and they arrived to find the rear porch fully involved extending inside in this occupied multi family.

A 2nd and 3rd alarms were quickly transmitted bring in mutual aid from Lincoln, Valley Falls and Pawtucket. Firefighters had to deal with extremely icy conditions as temperatures dipped into the single digits.

It took over 2 hours to bring the fire under control. 1 firefighter was treated for minor injuries.
