A video of me running through the game Passage, with captions explaining the game a bit. It's a 100 pixel by 16 pixel game by Jason Rohrer that was submitted for Kokoromi's Gamma256 event. The game runs through a character's life, starting with him choosing to fall in love or not, then walking and aging. The score goes up as you walk right (in larger increments if you fall in love) and treasure chests are scattered below. Kind of a cute game. Check it out.

  • This game...I just played it, in the middle, I went down trying to find the chest, I went too deep and I got stuck and it took from teens to grey hair to get out and keep on moving, it represents me as a whole, if I don't leave it and get out fast, I will miss out and live a shorter life, this game has taught me a bit of a lesson, move on before you miss out and dig a hole too deep..

  • this game explains life... in 5 minutes... where you choose to be together or not. if you're not together, its like everything so boring and the same, that explains why the score is much more when you are together, you see future up ahead, walking to it, when you're getting old, you start to remember the past, as the past is so blurry, and everything turns a little bit more simple, then your wife is dead, and then you keep living, and you're dead, so depressing. im sad :(

  • Game or not, this is emotionally engaging. Just "played" it, and even though I knew what was going to happen, it's genius. Very well done.

  • Have you guys played The Stanley Parable? It's a mod for Half Life 2. If you don't have it, you may just download Source SDK and Base 2007 on Steam and the game will run. It's a game of choices. I recommend playing it, but please, try not to find out anything about the game without playing it through.

  • 2:20 lol

  • Wow. When I first played it, I didn't know you could move any other way then left and right. I didn't consider it a game, just an animation showing two lovers aging. The fact that it was interactive just made it that much more impressive. I don't know why, but I didn't really question its simplicity and thought that it was very touching as is. I've since deleted the game since it wouldn't open again but I think I'll give it another try and see if it impacts me any differently/more.

  • He moves his head away from the mic to breath.

  • @Decliner paying...? This game is freeware.

  • This game is so sad

  • I saw this as nr.1 on a list of 10 best casual games of the last decade. I don't want to bash the game, but that was seriously one overrated nr.1. I mean, World of Goo was 6th, come on.

The music was awesome though. Not Super Meat Boy awesome, but it made half the game.

  • kind of underwhelming tbh, there are better stories in different art forms that tell this better and with more impact, and there are flash games more emotionally involving than this.
