A small tribute to the Victorian Bushfires.

EDIT:

I would really like to thank everyone who has commented on this video.

Please note i will remove all rude and disgraceful comments. Sadly i have already removed one. The person said something along the lines of "This is nothing, its only a bbq" - I hope the same thing that happens to the arson(s) happens to him.

  • My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this disaster. I could not even come close to imagining what it would feel like to see a wall of fire comming for you. There have been so many stories of bravery and friendship. Stay strong.

  • Shutup. They were staying to help put out the fires so that it wouldn't come any closer to Melbourne. You might live in Melbourne and if you do, you should be thanking those people for helping save your lives. And also, most people would send their wives and kids to safety while they fought the fires by themselves. Not putting the whole family in danger.

  • well, wen there's a wall of fire coming for u, u run. duuuuuuh.

i personally feel sorry for the families in their homes, trapped . imagine trying to escape from ur home which is blazing in fire.

  • what was the exact date they started and ended?

  • @bigfirie To all those who escaped death from this fire: STOP KILLING ANIMALS AND ROAST THEM ON FIRE!!! This fire shows clearly how karma makes people pay for their sins against animals that they joyfully kill-sometimes to celebrate a "religious" festival!!!

This is just a sample of real inferno that exists on other planets

  • It is extremely dangerous to try and flee from a fire which is that close. The smoke, the wind, the heat all combine to create a situation which makes it nearly impossible to escape. Add emergency vehicles using the roads....

In general, roads were not closed by the authorities to prevent people from exiting the area, only to prevent them from entering it. Any road blockages came from trees which fell across the roads, or cars that blocked the roads. This is why we tell people to leave early.

  • How were people supposed to flee when roads were closed without their knowledge? People died in their car's trying to escape the fury because the fires were spreading that fast. Race has absolutely nothing to do with this, there was no real plan for such a huge catastrophe like this, now there is and lets hope we never have to use it.

  • this is really sad more than 500 anchors of land has been burnt

  • Residents of the fire said the same thing but said 'hang them'

  • STUPIDITY! The fires were raging for DAYS..when r people gonna realize LIFE IS MORE IMPORTANT than material things? how fcuking stupid do u have to b to put urself and ur WHOLE family at risk to try to put out a fire yourself?????? These fires had been raging for ages, and people CHOSE to stay....if those people were Asian they would be the first out of there with their family and move into a temporary hotel in the CBD! As Kevin Rudd said its "ABSURD" people should die like that!
