My second Necrophagist solo cover. I learned this weeks before the "Ignominious" solo, but once I did the cover of "Ignominious" solo, I thought, "Why not film the 'Fermented' solo as well?"

Let me tell you, after both solos, my left forearm started to cramp up, but it never hurt so good. I filmed and uploaded this right when I felt I could handle (but not master) both solos.

I learned both solos by ear.

  • what kind of amp did you use? btw great cover dude!

  • @xMtysx02 I used a Line 6 Spider III 15, the Insane channel. I forgot what the settings were, but I'ma guess the treble was high, the mids were around 1-2 o' clock, the bass was 10-12 o' clock, and the gain was probably 11-1 o' clock..

  • @SeeDubyaa start out wit theory. learn scales, it will help you a shitlot cause you know exactly what you play that way. then practice some warm-ups with a clean amp or unplugged. try to get them faster and cleaner, and use a metronome. you can do that while watching tv or anyything, but you cant practice that stuff enough! sweeping and stuff you should do exactly the same, start out slow with a clean sound and then increase tempo.

  • amazing man, i know i'm not that good but you should check out my videos, see you in hell is my latest and best, i have a death metal song, but i've only been playing for a year, give me your honest opinion

  • @SeeDubyaa I'm no teacher, but I think that one thing you can do is start out with playing rhythms/rhythm guitar parts first and exercising rhythms to get a grasp on being tight with anything you play. From there, maybe, you can then work on slowly building up shredding techniques, preferably using a metronome or click track at a slow tempo and building up speed from there. I would also suggest trying to play by ear to develop perfect pitch. I hope this helps.

  • @risingskater Practice is such a general word though, I don't know what exactly to practice, there is so many techniques in this song and I just don't know where to begin with shredding and lead.

  • @ChuckisGOD1 I think about 4 days in total of watching YouTube videos of Muhammed, looking up tabs, and correcting them by ear and stuff.

  • @SeeDubyaa Practice and more practice, I guess. Sorry for the late response. Someone marked your comment as spam, and I didn't notice.
