  • The broadcast was biased in favor of creationism. They started it out by saying the district was considering teaching more than "just evolution," implying teaching evolution in biology is incomplete or inadequate. If they required teachers to teach "other theories," an honest biology teacher would say there are no other theories that account for what we see in the world. Creationism is a notion, not even rising to the level of hypothesis, and there are many kinds of creationism.

  • Creationism and its cousin Intelligent Design are not alternative theories to Evolution. In the same manner the stork theory is not an alternative theory to sexual reproduction, the tooth fairy is not an alternative theory to Mom and Dad putting money under the pillow either... etc.

  • Well if the fairy tale of creationism is allowed in a science class, then all fairy tales/beliefs need to be included also. For instance, some people think humans are an alien race. That should be included in the science class, I demand it!

  • Randy Kubetz is completely deluded. She should be kept well away from children and school boards.

  • Randy Kubetz is one of those ULTIMATE creationist hypocrites! He serves on the school board, but does not allow his own children to attend those same schools. As far as the statement from Mrs. Kubetz that it is not the only theory out there & that scientists are arguing evolution this is proof that she is either brainwashed or completely ignorant of the facts & scientific reality. In science FACTS R explained by theories. Fossils showing evidence of common descent=Fact,& the theory is Evolution!

  • So the homeschooling mom is complaining that a school she is not using but her Husband works for is not teaching creationism/ID. The Husband whom it would seem has no idea of how the separation of church and state even works on the Local level (it is a PUBLIC school). There is so much wrong here.

  • FFRF supporters should show up at that vote meeting wearing these: controversy dot wearscience dot

  • Religion doesn't belong in a science classroom, period. Unless, someone shows that creationism is indeed a science, what sense does it make to teach it as such?

  • It just amazes me that they pull out those same old debunked arguments that science is still uncertain about evolution. These home schoolers are no doubt receiving school vouchers being that they are from Wisconsin. Thereby using our tax money to teach religion.

  • @pahtar Biased in favour of creationism (and religion)? It's FOX. Ha!

They did make a slip in the more accurate direction at the beginning though; "A battle between Faith and Science." Exactly, and which should have a place in Science class? Duh!

  • Common descent with genetic modification over billions of years powered by natural selection is a fact with nearly 100% of all qualified scientist accepting this. If there were any fence sitters, DNA science has put an end to the debate. There are no problems with the science of evolution. Now, you want to talk about problems?, let’s talk about your bible/quran. Lots of problems there. Creationism /ID are bible science and have no place in today’s world.
