Paglalakbay is a Filipino word that roughly translates to "travels," or "journey." This film chronicles the adventures of Alvin Pingol and family as they travel through the Philippines and Hong Kong. Shot in January, 2010, over the course of three weeks. Part 1 of 3.

  • Hi Alvin! Just wanted to stop by to say that I loved your video! (I watched it on vimeo) Your humor, editing, narration, and camera skills were all on point. I think this makes a great advertisement for the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Kodak Zi8 hahah. Thanks for sharing this with us! You are the man!

  • @timeafter Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the film :). I recently took a trip through Europe and got a lot of great footage (shot in 1080P on a DSLR this time around, so quality will be substantially improved!), and hope to edit it together into another documentary-style video in the near future. Now... only to find the time to do that! Hahah.

  • Great quality video, what camera did you use?

  • @Badwolf0683 - The entire film was shot on a Kodak Zi8.

  • "We arrived approximately 3 and a half weeks later, or something' Hahahahaha 1:59

  • awesome narration...the hotel part was funny..lmao

  • Nice soundtrack.

And your own music is really beautiful!

  • @idnotmade - Hi! Glad you enjoyed the film. I shot everything at 720p60. Make sure to hold the camera as steady as possible - all those little shakes and jitters are impossible to see on the camera's LCD screen, but once you review the footage on a computer it gets pretty bad. For this reason alone I had the camera mounted on a mini-tripod and just carried it around that way, to add counterbalance, a little weight, and isolation. Next step is the content itself! Find sunsets, landscapes, etc...

  • Alvin this 3 part video is very entertaining & I cannot believe I even liked the narration…it truly adds to the likeability of this video.
