Sunset Café Stomp Carlings 1985
December last year ( 2006) Hans Carling went through his video collection and converted quite a number of early Carling Family Band recordings to DVD format. He send me several DVD's and it is with great pleasure to present these to all the friends of traditional jazz on Youtube and Dailymotion.
Recorded in the Floda church, a church in Sweden, the family members play a number from the early Louis Armstrong Hot Five recordings.
Sunset Cafe Stomp is played by Hans on trumpet, Max on clarinet (16), Gunhild (9) on trombone, Gerd (14) on piano, Aina on banjo and Ulf (6) on drums.
@neon854 They seem to have done alright since then...

I hope these children weren't bullied too much into playing trad. jazz. They don't look very happy on stage.

Some of the best jazz that I've heard. And the band is mainly children? Impressive!

I know why muslims are so dissatisfied:they have no music like this heavenly stuff. This is really great performance by such young performers-or is that an "ageist" remark?Thank you erwig.

I might be tempted to go to church if it had a band like this one playing! Great music
