Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a Republican presidential hopeful, advised Republicans to turn tables on Obama.
Gingrich said Republicans should immediately pass a $100-billion cut in spending, balanced by a $100 billion increase in the debt limit.

Now, Social Security is sucking money out of the Treasury. This year, it will add a projected $46 billion to the nation’s budget problems, according to projections by system trustees. Replacing cash lost to a one-year payroll tax holiday will require an additional $105 billion. If the payroll tax break is expanded next year, as President Obama has proposed, Social Security will need an extra $267 billion to pay promised benefits.

Social Security is not solvent. New congressional estimates say the trust fund that supports Social Security disability will run out of money by 2017, leaving the program unable to pay full benefits, unless Congress acts. About two decades later, Social Security’s much larger retirement fund is projected to run dry as well. It's time to REFORM ALL GOVERNMENT ASSISTANT PROGRAMS NOW -- ELSE WE LOSE THEM! How about the first step to get millionaires off SS and Medicare?

Really intelligent response, man. Ask yourself, why is Obama spending so much with Dodd Frank, Obamacare and the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya? He needs to stop spending. Gingrich is offering an easy solution.

Mitch McConnell is a doofus if he gives any power to the president in this idiotic Mexican Standoff issued by Obama. Take away Obama's choices and do exactly what Newt is talking about here. Don't give Obama the upper hand. Force him to act appropriately and CALL HIS BLUFF! He doesn't have a good hand and HE KNOWS IT! If the Republicans blow this, Obama should win the election in 2012. I am so sick of them being such pansies.
