  • Um . . . I had a medical test

    its a Xray

    X_X

  • @EeveyFawkes Um..... You may have an x-ray. You may even have an x-ray of your brain. What you don't have is any xray proving you have a mental disorder. How do we know this? because one doesn't exist. Arguing this is ludicruous, the AMA, the APA and the NIMH all agree there is no x-ray or any test to prove someone does or does not have a mental disorder. But, you want to believe you have one...knock yourself out.

  • The neurobiological nature of ADHD. was conclusively proven in the 1990 landmark glucose brainscan research study published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

  • @AshleyTaios Pfffttt.... that's ridiculous. And you don't seem to have the ability to think logically. If there was such a proven test, then why do none of the 5 million kids labeled ADHD not have their "glucose lab test?" Because there is no such proven test. Get real. Even the NIMH admits there is NO TEST FOR ADHD. No PET scans, no chemical imbalance tests. Not one. They admit this. Your arguments are lame. The APA admits this, the NIMH admits this. No test. Period.

  • @CCHRInt

because you don't have to do said tests to confirm that you have ADHD, you don't send your blood to a science lab, if you have a fever, where they test it to see if there are viruses in your body, because you can tell by the fever. There are tests for ADHD, it had been proven that people with ADHD respond less to dopamine and because of that basically can't concentrate. To have every single one of them have expensive tests is retarded since ADHD can be detected by symptoms. hurr durr

  • @6037084 Wow. You just can't seem to wrap your wits around logic. So maybe this is one of the rare cases for using All Caps. OK, you ready? THERE IS NO MEDICAL OR SCIENTIFIC TEST IN EXISTENCE TO PROVE THAT ADHD IS A MEDICAL/BIOLOGICAL CONDITION. GO ASK THE AMERICAN PSYCHIATRIC ASSOCIATION, THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF MENTAL HEALTH OR THE FDA. Get it? You trackin? THERE AIN'T NO TEST SISTER. Get educated. Then get back to us.

  • It's eugenics re packaged!

  • I understand the point but there are way too many blanket statements and fallacious arguements to take this seriously. A psychiatrist is a medical or osteopathic DOCTOR with additional specialty training. Stress causes "dis-ease" whether it is oxidative or mental. Emotions are both mental and physiological.

Yes I think that psych disorders are generally overmedicated but this video is just ignorant.

  • It's not true psychiatrists easily can label a patient. There need to be more than x indicators before a psychiatrist is allowed to think of a psychiatric disorder. Besides, there are more and more researchers who are succeeding in showing how a depression for example is recognizable in human brains or amount of hormones in blood. It's really there, just like Alzheimer. I do think too many people have been labelled having a mental disorder, tho. Overrated! But mental disorders really do exist.

  • of course, correlation does not mean causation, but i feel you're being far too blunt.

  • I think you've misunderstood the problem. The problem is not whether psychological disorders exist (they do), or whether they can be diagnosed (diagnostic criteria is not perfect, but reasonably reliable depending on the disorder), but if/when pharmacological treatment is the best option. Chemical imbalances do not account for all mental conditions. I skimmed your website and watched your video and I did not see any mention of psychotherapy, which in my opinion is the best alternative.

  • Brilliant, excellent!
