My Fav track by them. A version of the great Mal Waldrons soul eyes from the 1978 cape Wrath album.
The pub is the Half moon Putney where they used to have a residency.
Enjoy

  • I bought the Cape Wrath album, still got it at hand, after stumbling into The Cricketers to get out of the rain and the band was playing. Max Middleton on keys and Martin Drew on drums as a bonus. Great music R.I.P. Dick

  • They just dont have venues like the Cricketers any more! I was so luck could walk there tho often stumbled back!

  • I also remember seeing them many times at The Cricketers, although after this album (which I still have on vinyl BTW) was released. The pub was a great live venue and hosted some great jazz fusion bands such as Paz and Cayenne ... and also a very young Ruby Turner

  • Yeh it was a good little venue, walking distance for me so I could have a few beers! what a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon

  • I used to see them at the Cricketers at the oval. They used to surprise me by throwing in a new cover, like Joe Samples many stops along the way.

  • Wish I could get his on cd, any ideas.

  • send me an e-mail address and I will see what I can do

  • @tommyrockon

Martin Drew has gone too now.

Doesn't it make us all feel that we should stop faffing about, and get on with it?

  • ca me rappelle ma jeunesse :)))

  • Jazzfunkadelictastic!

  • Anyone know where I can get a copy of this album?

  • Morrisey Mullen WAS my youth!!

    RIP Dick ..;o(

  • This was the sound of London in the early 80's. I used to ride the tube with M&M tunes ringing in my ears. Sadly missed DM

  • I found out this week that the intended closure of the Half Moon Putney, as a music venue, has been put on hold for another two years.

  • @stilltrue2day I remember them at The Bulls Head, Barnes Bridge, where they did an unbelievably good version of Stevie Wonder's "Another Star" & Marvin Gayes "I Want You'..i think it was recorded as a live broadcast on BBC radio. Must've been around 1980. Also i saw Jim Mullen when he was with "Kokomo" around 1975.
