I've hit a road block. Now that I'm a YouTube Partner, I can enable ads on my videos. However, I need to own 100% of the material. The studios that I received clips and trailers from aren't giving me rights to now use the footage with ads.

So what should I do now? Should I continue to make video reviews without clips from the products? Would you still watch the video? Or do you have any other suggestions of some content that I should create?

  • What if I continued to do news segments? Like my Super Bowl videos?

  • At least you GOT the partnership. =P

  • I'd much rather share revenue made via YouTube Partners with the copyright holders.

  • go on making reviews, they're really good, it doesnt matter if you actually use footage.

for example yathzee doesnt use footage and people still watch his videos.

  • classic game room does lots of reviews all gameplay hes a partner and he uses ads, but do you really think sony is going to care (or check!!) if you say such and such is good/bad/okay?

  • YouTube does have buy now links to Amazon and iTunes for their music profiles, but they only sell related songs. YouTube simply hasn't made anything public to Partners about being able to buy other forms of products via Amazon.

Never seen Blunty3000. I'll check him out.

  • Why can't you do the Amazon thing that you mentioned? Did they just say no on Amazon searches?

Also, I would suggest looking up Blunty3000 on Youtube. He does a lot of reviews on video games and movies, and his videos are always interesting. From what I remember, his ad's are relevant to the product.
