The drag march started as an unofficial part of the 25th Anniversary commemoration of the Stonewall Uprising. The organizers of the parade that year knew they

would get extra media attention and they didn't want leather and drag and other transgressive types in the parade, so many in the leather community, drag queens

and Radical Faeries held their own march. It has become a tradition. Though not an official part of the Pride celebration, it is the most fun. The march starts

at Tompkins Square Park and ends in front of the Stonewall Inn, where the historic uprising occurred in 1969, the day Judy Garland was laid to rest. This video

was all shot in front of the Stonewall where the march turned into a spontaneous party.
