Those who practice shugden have repeatedly made attemps on HHDLs life for centuries. He was saying last January (2010) in Bohdgaya that he has found even the 5th Dalai Lama started seeing this. It's a harmful deity that they follow and the deity can show itself in a variety of ways. I wish I could go into more depth, but my memory is hazy on whatelse he mentioned for why not to come or why not to practice it. I suggest you research it for more info at more than one source.
@vinayaholder If a shugden practitioner were to attend one of His Holiness's teachings he would in effect become on of their gurus, and you should always follow the advice of your guru. Seeing as his advice is to give up the practice of shugden but perhaps another has told you or you committed to do the practice then you are left stuck between which to respect and listen to. So His Holiness has made it simpler in asking if your practice shugden, then don't come to his teachings
When Dalai Lama arrived in Bodh Gaya for teachings and prayers, it was open to all except to those who practice Dorje Shugden. This strikes me as odd - doesnt that mean that Satanists would be allowed in but not Shugden practitioners such as HH Pabongka Rinpoche and HE Gangchen Rinpoche?
@felipebrasil5 They are pure Aryans. Some scholars argue that they are the descendants of Alexander the Great. They have nothing to do with Chinese.
