round reserve fired by a miscalibrated AAD at 10k feet - a jumper above went THROUGH the round reserve and left a man-sized hole in the back of the reserve (it already had steering slots). The jumper who hit the reserve was stunned by the impact but eventually opened his own main. Both jumpers landed on the DZ (one after a long reserve ride from 10k) and neither was injured.
Just to put things in perspective.
Check your hackey handle and your AAD before jumping.

What a bell end!

unexpected chute openings arent wanted in skydiving. eg if a closing loop broke or the reserve pin pulled by accident (or gear problems) the skydiver could wrap round the plane tail or get hit by it..... the chute could hit (and definately kill) someone if deployed directly below someone else (by accident)
just a bad thing,,,which is only a result of human error....... people not checking their gear!!!!

@ironeyex The wind can be brutal at that altitude

Why do you write BSBD (Blue Skies Black Death), did he die? If so I'm sorry..
Hi SkyRuck
I'm pleased to say he did not die. He had a save landing after a long canopy ride.
The reason I wrote BSBD was because someone called himself that way, like you call yourself SkyRuck. See posting below. I myself am not a BSBD type of man...

I bet everyone's eyes were flippin' WIDE OPEN!
Heck, cutaway and get back into it and pull your reserve with everyone else...

Hi BSBD
It was a pullout hanging out allready on climbnout. One of the teammates of this 4 way team tryed to catch te attention of the person, but with no succes. They were allready in the door...
I didi some sitflying with the other two, when they had recorvered from the shock. We all landed safe!
Thanks for your comment. Are you a jumper yourself?
