@lara777ize Of course, we can't influence each other and convince that what we prefer is better. We can only exchange opinions on YT. If they didn't want people to discuss and reply to each other, even argue they wouldn't invent this option "reply" and give only "comment".Oscar Wilde said:"There's no such thing as a good influence...Because to inluence a person is to give him one's own soul..." No, you are not deaf, but such intelligent and refined singing isn't that appealing to YOUR soul.

@serenaluce Ну, значит я глухая, если не слышу этих "фантастических" низких нот. К чему продолжать эту бессмысленную дискуссию, все равно каждая из нас останется при своем мнении.

@lara777ize I see,you prefer more vibrato and Ragin's less refined technique. Tastes differ, of course.Nobody pushes you to think like me.Ragin is a great artist too, but sorry. It's again only a exchange of opinions, but Ragin's technique is nowhere near. This is a very difficult aria, and make it sound that smooth and effortless is the greatest art!Spanos has all the expressivness and shows anger"E nel petto i tumulti dell'alma" in a very intelligent way which Ragin lacks. His LOW notes FANTASTIC!

В этой арии гораздо предпочтительнее Ragin. Spanos явно не хватает экспрессивности, его низкие ноты также не впечатляют.

@fourmy1060 This version is so PERFECT that it makes even ME speechless!:-)Every time I listen to it I wonder how it is possible to do what Nicholas Spanos does here! Just incredible and sounds always fresh to me though for 2 years I've heard it many, many times! He is a genius! What more could one ask?:-) I just can't understand who are those 4 people who didn't like it. Do people have no ears?!..How could nowadays when we have SPANOS and other REAL CTs someone hire women or PJ as TAMERLANO !

Great tempo, first class technique, clear diction... what more could one ask? I love this version and it has become my reference, the yardstick by which I judge other versions of the same aria. Bravo!

I selected all "A dispetto" performings, available on the Internet, including one by a woman, and can say that Nicolas's singing is BY FAR the best!
