@franny231123DMT LOL Microsoft has been built on the DOS cake since its conception. Microsoft (at the time- just Gates and Ballmer) went to IBM to sell them an OS for their hardware. IBM bought their OS that they didn't have. He took the money from IBM and bought the rights to DOS. Since then they have been building on legacy stack, and the biggest departure from all of that was the move to NT: Not based on Unix. If anything, their TCP stack is copied from BSD, but they're not based on Unix.
