The US has used Khorat as a base during joint exercises. But Thailand is not official, for strategic use.

Wow. And no US military presence in Thailand either. The jihadist group is attacking a primarily Buddhist government? I can't understand why Islamic radicals would be attacking an eastern government that has aboslutely nothing to do with US foreign policy.
