BACKSTORY-

Detective Teddy "Breadarm" Fredrick hasn't had a partner in anti-crime in two years. What's even worse -- He has a loaf of bread for an arm.
After going through a traumatic experience which resulted in him permanently having a "bread-arm", he has had a dozen partners that have either been injured or left him because of his breadarm. He is a grouchy man, ultra-sensitive about his arm.

He gets a new partner and rookie detective, Dave Coulier, and is especially uneasy about it, but does not care to explain why. Co-workers are also surprised when they here of Dave's name, muttering things like "How ironic..." or "I wonder how Breadarm's gonna feel about that..." under their breath.

Eventually a co-worker explains to Dave that Breadarm's original partner for 5 years, was named Joey Gladstone. (The irony being that Joey Gladstone was the character that the actor Dave Coulier played on the TV Series "Full House").
Co-workers poke fun of the duo behind their backs and in their face making jokes like, "So he's your 13th partner huh? I guess that means you've had a "baker's dozen" of partners!" and "Hey, unlucky 13... be careful burnt toast doesn't cross your path."

With Breadarm miserable, constantly snapping at Coulier, the rookie detective becomes irritated with not only the jokes of the co-workers, but also his own partner. The two detectives are trying to solve one of San Francisco's biggest strings of crime -- and being the laughing stalk of the station, whilst having bad chemistry, is not helping.

As a side problem, Breadarm used to be the master of one-liner's -- saying cool catch phrases as they solve a case, or get a step closer -- much like David Caruso of CSI: Miami fame. Now, however, he has been struggling to come up with witty comments, a skill he once loved to showcase to his team and the public.

SCENE: Finally Dave Coulier has had it, and confronts Breadarm about why he is so sensitive about having a partner and his breadarm. Despite being angered by Dave Coulier's insensitivity to his handicap, Breadarm explains the story, looking back on how he came to have a breadarm and what happened to his best friend and partner, Joey Gladstone, as a result. SCENE END.

After this bonding session they eventually ease into each other's company, and begin to get things done. With his newfound comfort, Breadarm gets his skill of one-liners back by accepting the fact that he has a breadarm. ""
As the duo is about to solve the case, Breadarm's breadarm accidentally bumps into a button in a butter factory and dunks Coulier into a vat of boiling hot melted butter. He thought he had killed him, but he didn't, and they finish the case, locking up the head criminal for years.
