The total amount of time it takes Venus to complete a full loop is approximately 2 years 6 months.

Venus' orbit around the sun, marked at the same time of day is called an Analemma. The Analemma of the Sun makes the pattern of a figure 8, or infinity. This tracking begins at the Spring Equinox March 20.
