Northbound Binghamton-Montreal manifest 253-28 is seen at four locations on the CP Freight Sub between Binghamton and Harpursville, NY. This train has 94 cars today, all of which are freight. In addition to cars for Montreal, 253 also carries traffic for the Pan Am interchange at Mohawk Yard and the Vermont Railway interchange at Whitehall. Notice the classic blue Boston & Maine 2 bay hoppers near the end of the train.
The 253 is first shot at Bevier Street Yard in Binghamton. There is a nice CP caboose parked in one of the yard tracks here. The next shot is at Port Crane. The entire train is shown here, and there is a D&H defect detector at this location. Next, the train is seen at a grade crossing just east of Belden. Having crested Belden Hill just over a mile earlier, the power is now in dynamic braking here. Finally, the train is shot crossing the spectacular trestle at Harpursville. I apologize for the unlevel shot here, I didn't have the time to set up properly.
